Boat motor trouble

ok I’ve got a 9.9 evinrude(about a 78 ) it has a new carb, new fuel pump, new plugs.
It’s starts fine, idles good but when you run it in gear under load it sputters and dies taking about 30 minutes to get it started again. When restarted it idles fine etc but then the same thing again when you put it under load..
Any ideas???

May seem like a dumb question but are you turning the choke off when you hit the gas?

Sounds like it’s fluid in itself

Check your air intake. I had a mud wasp nest one time and at speed it would clog the air intake and bog out. Idle was fine.

Just had my Yamaha 9.9 in shop. It died after 1 hr of use and wouldn't start. Shop rebuilt carb which it needed but would not continue to run after. Found old dirt dabbers nets in vent line to carb. Cleaned and runs like new.

i have a evinrude 15 with similar year and about ten years ago it started to do and still does/did the same thing despite carb work, gas line changes, fuel tank changes, etc. I finally just let it sit cause I couldn't make it do right. Still sitting

Water pump check water pump. Had one that done that. Idle try to run it it quit. Water pump impellors was wore out. Caused engine to over heat. Had very little water coming out of pee tube. New water pump it ran fine.

Make sure your fuel tank is venting.
