There’s off brand sea dek you can get THATS not as bad. I know for a 19ft bass boat it was about 7-900 bucks to get recarpeted by a guy near ky lake

I've done a few years ago, not that bad after the old is off. Use contact cement and take your time, use a razor to cut the edges after the center is glued down. I layed the carpet in the floor with a rough oversized fit, rolled back half and brushed some glue on the carpet and floor. After it dried I would put that together and then do the other side. Then I would work my way around the edges with the razer and glue them a few feet at a time, letting dry and then working into place. The lids are pretty easy after you figure out how to cut the corners and get them looking good.

Seems like vinyl would be slick when wet??

No. Its textured, not smooth. My vinyl is the same texture as the florida boats, similar to the bed liner texture. You should see some of the vinyl going on pontoons now. Padded and good looking. Carpet is non-standard now.

The textured vinyl is great stuff. No more hooks in carpet, fish stains, wet floor. Hose off after every use. Ever drop chicken livers on carpet??

Have a buddy who bought a newer tracker bass boat that had the vinyl floor. He liked it with the exception that after being caught in the rain one day nearly all of his compartments got soaked inside. He ended up selling it two weeks after buying it.

I'm pontoon shopping now. Vinyl floors are one of my must haves.

I'd check out what carpet he is gonna use. I did that tracker this spring, had to build all the new deck and carpet it. It was a job but it wasn't bad. i got my carpet from lowes. and glue from there too. Make sure you get waterproof glue and also get air stapler, makes job easier than hand stapler. pop your decks off strip carpet, scrape, cut carpet, glue and lay over deck and roll really good and turn deck piece over on it's top and stretch and staple.

how hot is it in sun? I thought bout doing a colored epoxy pour on my decks instead of carpeting, but thought it would get to hot on bare feet. I was gonna do a white.

He's got a professional that is going to strip it and put new in for $300. The carpet is editor's choice from 2019. 20 oz marine carpet.
