I bought a few chatterbaits and trailers. Will be throwing them in shallow water in Florida. To those of you that have fished them, what kind of rod do you prefer? I've never fished them, so not sure what to expect. Do you prefer a rod with a soft tip/glass like throwing crankbaits, or do you need something with a bit more backbone? Thanks in advance?
I like to throw them with a spinnerbait rod, as they have a little softer tip and mid section. This will work best for me as I'm generally target specific casting or roll casting back under overhangs etc. I'm 6'4" and prefer the rod around 7' for this bait.
im a g loomis man and i throw all of mine on 61/2 or 7 ft med heavy action if i git bit i wanna Ruff them up lol
