I shamed my wife into cooking something good when I showed her Barney's Chocolate Cake from a few days ago.
This thing was Killer. I thought about Ice Cream but that would have Contaminated it.

Kids are coming to eat tomorrow, now I'ma gonna have to buy some blackberries in the morning at Kroger to make a cobbler. They're big kids that eat a lot... Gonna cost me a fortune.:(

We picked those last year on a neighbors place. I don't have any DamBriars.

  10. I don’t like them cooked either unless the sugar is just right.

I have always loved blackberries. It’s the first foraging I can remember like before the age of 5. Mamaw paid me .25 cents a 2 gallon bucket full & all the cobbler I could eat.
    Looks great JR.

Bondhu I'd give fifty cents for a two gallon bucket if you want to come pick in my area.:)
Seriously, I have had some trouble in recent years finding berries that are not about too seedy to be good. Those big wild ones full of pulp seems to have become rare. Personally I dont think the seedless ones grown domestically have the flavor of the ones out of the briar patch. Maybe the domestic ones are the wrong variety ?

BB cobbler is my favorite desert

  13. I planted 12 thornless bushes in the fall, looking forward to years of blackberries.

Bee, get you some Apache/ Arkansas cross bushes. There good for tame berries. We haven’t had a good season for blackberries in about 4 years. Plus we clean our land to much to have a wild blackberry patch.
