Nephew shot it. Said he shot another one two weeks ago.
Black is the prettiest.
I’ve seen a black one before. But they do look more like a dog which makes me second guess pulling the trigger on one...or it would if I was given a shot opportunity.
But I guess if one came to a call and the tail would give you a good idea it was a coyote.
Looks like a german shepherd dog to me. How much did it weigh? Would like to see pics of its teeth and side profile of the head. Yote looks like a large fox. The teeth are longer and curved to the rear more than most dogs and the nose is distinctly pointed. There are larger numbers of yote-dog hybrids running around and this could be one of them.
I've seen 2 black yotes in my life. One was a dead one, and one I passed on because I thought it was a dog until the opportunity to shoot passed. Congrats to the nephew!
It will make a nice hide
I seen 1, couldn't get a shot,my buddy has killed 3 or 4. they look like the one above.I know a guy that claims he killed one.I swear the dam thing looks like a elk hound to me.Everybody sees it ,says the same thing.
I’ve killed 3 in Metcalfe county. Everyone of them had the little white patch on the chest. There’s an area over there that the black trait seems to run strong. Saw a female with a litter in early June on that farm that had 3 black pups and one regular colored pup. The female and one black pup didn’t leave.
I got a buddy,that has killed 2 or 3.He has a hot spot
I have killed one.game warden said it was a coy dog.
I've never seen'em that dark in person...only in pics. It is cool.
