Any pool players? I just ordered a Brunswick table for home. I played a little in my younger days, but never really got into it. I'm going to practice and get to where I can play good. Will learn a lot from Daddy. At 85, there are still only a handful in Glasgow that can beat him. I intend to learn a lot from him.

Our first home we bought back in 04, we had a big basement living room type area. One of the first things we added was a pool table. No kids and no pets then, my wife and I would escape down there after work and play all the time, plus it was great when I had people over. Nowhere to put one in this house. I think I miss the pool table more than the home. It was a nice table, an Olhausen. Enjoy it! I was never great but had a lot of fun.

Player here. Have it professionally balanced and have Simonis cloth professionally installed. Have the pockets triple shimmed. Learning curve, but you will thank me later.

You ordered a pool table, if it has pockets, not a billiard table (I play both, preferring 3-Cushion). Return it, unless it is standard regulation size 9' table.

There was an old pool hall in town, the owner was an honest to goodness shark. Other sharks would come in to play him for big $ and when word would get out about the match the crowd would be there to watch.

One fine day a big ol' ruff looking stranger shows up in overalls with a 3 day beard. The stranger played everyone in the hall that day and lost an insane amount of money, so much so the owner finally had to join the party. That stranger continued his losing streak until the stakes got so high he asked the owner for a single game of double his losses to get even..

Only time anyone said that they saw a doubledy Duke run the rail when left hooked, and stop the cue ball dead in its tracks for the 9 between the 2 blocks. Witnesses said stranger left town with every pocket in his overalls stuffed.
