Is it still like that there at this time?
One of Alice Lloyd college biluildings got it bad. There was a huge slide came out behind one of buildings and all 3 floors have water running throughout, top to bottom. My daughter said from her dorm u could see water running out of the open doors on the 1st floor.
Yea I reckon it is, though I think it’s already crested..Martin is supposed to crest this evening. Garrett should be going down now though
I appreciate it a bunch but we’re ok just locked in. I stayed up till 4:30am making sure my drains stayed clear and didn’t destroy my road. Driveway is bad shape but nothing that can’t be fixed.
Hang in there brother. Hopefully this stuff goes down soon and we can recover.
Bridge street in Paintsville
This is Route 40 east coming off the 321 and 40 intersection heading into Paintsville.
Anybody been on Hal Rogers pkwy between London and Hazard? I bet middle fork flooded like crazy.
About Midnight the creek flooded the state Hiway 3268 here in Pulaski.
Here a photo of my creek bottom after it had gone down about 10 feet.
Heres a photo looking from my Car the same direction. You can see Debris in the bush about 3 feet over the Guardrail, where I am sitting about 5 ft. Over the road fill and over top the concrete bridge.
The water was running through the railings on the bridge about midnight, and the only time it ever did that was in 1959, 5 years after it was built. It is about 20 feet high from normal flow. In 1959, the water cut about 10 ft off the back of the new fill where it was rushing over.
Heres a photo of the bridge now. Back in the banks and nothing damaged except a couple hundred yards of Fence...just Gone....
Just drove to Martin in Floyd co and it’s a disaster already. One of the worst floods I’ve seen I’m my years here.
I liked your post but hate what you’re saying. I feel horrible for them.
I drove from London to Manchester today on the parkway. Nothing to speak of on the parkway but from what I saw it looked like Clay County got hit pretty hard
Yea I hate it too. I took a lot of pics and vids on my trip that way but I don’t post them online. Sad situation.
2021 is coming in like a lion if I've ever seen it! Worked in Jackson today near panbowl and there was a dozen or so houses flooded with it still raising an inch per hour. I drove up 15 to 476 and its pitiful at the houses & vehicles that you can barely see!!
Powell is mostly under water as well as beatyville/lee county. My gosh I've never seen nothing like this and unless you were of age to remember '78 you wouldn't either.
Lots of folks could use your prayers
