Pruitt doesn’t live in Metcalfe, he’s in Barren. The taxidermist I recommended lives directly on the Metcalfe/Green line. Not sure which county she’s actually in. He could be referring to the same one? Or he may be talking about Country Raised Taxidermy between Edmonton and Summer Shade. I haven’t ever seen their work. So I can’t speak on it.

I always think he's Metcalf because owns property there, just north of me. I forgot he lives somewhere else. I've been reminded that a couple times lol

Wildlife Heaven taxidermy by Jan George in Green County. She’s the “cats meow” when it comes to mounting cats. They are her specialty. They look like they are still alive when she finishes.

Called her she wants. $1000 for bobcat and $1200 for yote. That includes base. More money if you want the mouth open. Gerry’s in Adair Co not taking any more work cause of a serious accident. Any more suggestions?

Cheapest I know of is $700 at Tomahawk Taxidermy in Bonnieville. But if I’m paying $700, I’m paying the other $300 knowing what Jan can do…. Just my opinion though.

Called three other places that do a lot of cats $900 to $1000. Guess that is the going rate. Jan does have very good looking cats. Do you know if Tomahawk does many cats? I’ll give them a call tomorrow. Thanks

Honestly don’t know how many cats he’s done. Jay does great work on the animals I’ve seen. Can’t say that I’ve seen one of his cats. So I can’t give any input from that perspective. He’d charge more like the others most likely, he just hasn’t built his name recognition yet like the others.

The cats seperate the good taxidermist from the greats in my opinion. And if I was gonna get one I’d want it to be worth hanging in my living room. Which the price of quality work is the reason I haven’t got one lol I’ve always sold my cats. A buddy of mine had a cat done for like 600 a few years ago by a known taxidermist for deer, and that thing looks pidiful.

If I was getting one done and Gerry turned me down my next call would be Tracy Taylor in Adair county. He has done some really nice deer mounts for me at a fair price considering the quality of the work. I know he does cats but I’ve never personally seen one, all I can say is I wouldn’t be afraid to give him a try and I don’t think his price would be crazy. May want to ask how far behind he is, I know last deer mount a buddy had in there was almost 2 years getting back.

You could also look up southern pride taxidermy on Facebook. I know nothing about him but seen him pop up on Facebook recently with some pics of cats

I understand its a lot of money but with a cat think about it, it is probably the only one you will ever get mounted spend the money for the best looking mount you can possibly get. I know I would probably only ever mount one so I would want it perfect.

Congrats. I managed to be able to harvest 3 so far trapping. First one wasn't as pretty but weighed 30.2lbs. Second one weighed 27.6lbs. Third one was at 16lbs with it missing a tail. Having my first and second one mounted. They are some amazing animals.
