I worked at an Army Ammunition Plant in 1969-70. We were producing 1 Million Pounds of Cannon Powder per WEEK. The plant as built in the 1940s was capable of producing 1 Million Pounds a DAY then. So we were only running 1 Production Line out of 6 built.
NOW. It has been torn down and is Gone. (Our main caliber was 155 Cannon powder.)
We do not have the capacity to provide enough armaments now, to support our own "drawn down to skin and bones" military.

Perhaps Putin’s War did start as a test of American leadership, and it is said China is watching our response to Putin as they decide about invading Taiwan. So far, I think the response from the U.S. and several other countries has been solid. It has kept Putin from winning his war, and at the same time it has kept the fight from escalating into something bigger. Hopefully Biden can continue to avoid major conflicts abroad between now and leaving office in 2028.
