Looks like I finally got drawn for a BGAD hunt. Was wondering if you guys had any knowledge you wouldn't mind sharing about BGAD. All of the information that I could find on the forums was from years ago. From that information, I could tell that the hunt gets cancelled a lot and that was about it. Any information would help, thanks.

Are you referring to the Veterans hunt? If so Brsutton has guided that hunt several times and might be able to offer some input.

Did you get drawn for the public hunt or for the wounded warrior hunt? I help with the wounded warrior hunt.
Usually a pretty good number of birds. If its frozen and you take an ice eater you will be done quick most years. You will see a wide range of birds from mallards, redheads, buffleheads, blacks, gadwalls etc. Also lots of Canadas usually. They will search your truck on the way in, do not have a lighter. You will be dropped off and picked up from your spot and not allowed to leave that spot in between. You can wade in enough for a setup. The public hunt is the weekend after the wounded warrior hunt and I have not went to it. I always forget to put in until after the deadline.

I was drawn for the public hunt, December 8th. I figured getting in and out would be about the same as Knox. I assume it's a half day hunt like the deer hunts? Pick up and gone by 12?

I believe it was by 1 or 2. Cant remember for sure. It got cancelled last year and year before my group limited out in like 10 mins. The public hunt used to be the 3rd weekend in Jan. Not sure how it will be in early December.
That's what I was reading from previous threads as well. But, my draw result says December 8th instead of January 26th. Good to hear that the hunting is good though.
