In the application process for the BGAD hunt this year, can a hunter only apply for one hunt (bow or muzzleloader) or apply for both using two applications?

That place stinks, I wouldn't waste my time. This year they are putting all non-military in 1 area, and it's the worst area on post.

Rumor has it there was also a mustard leak this summer, and if I were anyone, I wouldn't bother putting in for it, for your own health.

    Info

It's been all over the Richmond Register, the Herald Leader, etc. I am suprised they are even going to go through the motions of the draw.

My bet is that they will do the draw, then cancel the hunts, and let the drawn applicants hunt in 2008.

That's funny. I work there and have not heard any of this. Talked to the land mgr Friday and he didn't let on like there was be a problem. Also never heard of the plans to move all non-military to one area. All areas are good there. I put my cousin in for the youth hunt last year and he drew "the worst area" and killed a 150" 10 point.

    Mis informed maybe?

Not likely, if it's cancelled, it's cancelled. We were drawn in '01 then 9/11 happened and cancelled the hunts. We had to reapply in '03 and I was the only one drawn

I can't let it go any further. Good luck to all at BGAD, it's a great place to hunt!!

Sent my apps. in last week.

If I let this go another week, it really would have gotten interesting.

Does anybody know, can you still put in with a hunting buddy, or do both people have to get drawn seperately?

You could call the land mgr and ask. I just assumed you could apply with someone

I'm a guide there and haven't heard any of that nonsense. 2 hunters per card is allowed and u may enter for both the bow and muzzleloader hunts on 2 seperate cards.

So, can you tell me/us how it works? I'm sure we've all heard teh rumors of being dropped off and told not to move from that spot.

    Main questions I have

Cost, other than that of state hunting license
    treestands?
hunting equipment? (inline muzzleloader? open sights only?)
    length of hunt (hours/days)
are you, indeed, put in a spot and told not to move?

    Gotta luv rumors :D
