I get it, I really do. The part that makes this the worst is that the owner was there with his dogs and attempting to retrieve them. But they shot them anyways. To some people. It’d have been just as bad as shooting a family member. I know a few individuals, and probably some on here, that a person would’ve died one side of the fence or the other immediately afterwards.Hate the dog got killed but a small dog can be a threat to cattle. I know from owning and being around cattle my whole life. I’ve had many issues with dogs thru the years. Had a small dog a couple years ago that terrorized a couple herd bulls in my bull lot. It would get in there chasing and bitting their back legs till the bulls where foaming at the mouth. Ran it off a few weeks later same dog ran both thru a 5 strand fence. Spent time fixing fence and getting bulls up. Those bulls were scared to death of dogs after that. Had another chasing a herd of close to 100 all thru the timber more than once. Very lucky none broke a leg. I did find a German Shepard once killing a calf which I know that’s not a small dog. Anymore I have very little patience with a dog around my cattle if I don’t know the dog especially if I see it running my cattle.
