On the radio this morning listening to Dave Ragone and Scott Padgett they had a good question. If you are a Kentucky basketball fan what one U of L player would you take to play for UK. Same thing for the Card fans, who would you take off the Cats.

As a Card fan I am torn. Patrick Patterson is the best player they have, but we are very good in the frontcourt, so he really doesn't fill a need. I would probably take Meeks because we could use another shooter.

I don't know any UL players, but I think I'd take the Puerto Rican guy.:D They've got one of those don't they?

The UK-UL game is gonna be a good one this year.

The pick between Meeks and Patterson would be tough. I think we have a decent frontcourt but could use experience. I think I'd take Meeks on the hope that the frontcourt is prime come march.

I don't care how good UofL's frontcourt is right now, you take the best player when he's as good as Patterson. Meeks is a good player, but, IMO, he's just not in the same class of players as Patterson and does a lot of the same things that T-Will does. A rotation with Clark, Samardo and Patterson would dominate basically every frontcourt in America, including Carolina's.

From UK's perspective, I'd probably go with Earl Clark over T-Will. I think that one of UK's biggest needs is to provide frontcourt support for Patterson, so he doesn't get triple-teamed every time he touches the ball. In addition to frontcourt scoring, Clark also would provide excellent rebounding. I might put Samuel into the mix, but he's simply too untested, and there's always the possibility that he'll wind up like a Caracter.

I'm going to make a bold prediction here... Meeks will be UK's leading scorer this year if he stays healthy, I also think he will be in the top 3 in the SEC for 3 pt%;). Meeks is very much like D. Wade and is capable of putting up 30+pt games on a somewhat regular basis.

The addition of Josh Harrelson made Patterson that much better because teams will have to respect him, even beyond the arc. If teams are going to double and triple team Patterson, Harrelson and Meeks are going to light them up.

Ok, I guess I'll play...I'd take Nervous Pervis from U of L, always need a big man inside...From KY I'd take Mr. Shootem up Kyle Macy for his accuracy in shooting.... Keep Isiah Thomas as the Point Guard, Macy as the 2 Guard, Pervis as the Power Forward, Darryl Thomas or Mike Woodson as the Small forward and Kent Benson as my Center.... Then have Damon Bailey come off the bench as my sixth man.....

Now hows that for a great Team for the Hoosier's....:)

I predict Patterson will get double-teamed by every team UK faces.

Don't get me wrong, I like Meeks a lot. I expect that teams will try to deny him the ball and/or double-team him as well, but dontcha think that comparing him to Dwayne Wade is a bit of a stretch? And frankly, since you're pulling out the the superstar b-ball legend comparisons, don't you think Scotty Pippen would be a better comparison. Not overpowering going to the rim, but an outstanding defender and a sneaky slasher that can pull up and hit the mid-range jumper? Heck, I think Meeks' style is more like Kobe Bryant's than Wade's.

As for Harrelson, I haven't seen enough of him to comment one way or another. I wouldn't expect him to be anything more than a role player this year, maybe 6 points and 3 rebounds a game. He might be better than that, but I'd be pretty surprised if he ever "lights" other teams up.

I didn't say he's as good as Wade, but he does remind me of him at times at the college level. I really don't think anyone knows exactly how Meeks will play this year. We saw him under Tubby, which wasn't a good way to assess talent, and obviously he was injured last year. I'm just curious to see how he plays this year. I think it could go either way, but I honestly believe he could be a bigger impact player for this team then Patterson.

Harrelson is still learning, but his fundamentals are extremely strong. I think he's a little slow and doesn't seem to have the physical stamina yet. However, there will be nights where teams are so preoccupied with Patterson that Harrelson will put up some good numbers.

ok well if meeks is double teamed and patterson is triple teamed then that leaves 2 ppl open. any college division 1 player should be able to knock down a wide open jumper whether is a 20footer or a 10footer. hopefully billy g's defense over comes all the offensive talk.

As far as picking a player from u of l, i really liked padgett. he was hard working and was really enjoyable to watch. him and hansboro was really awesome to watch on the floor.
