A few ribeyes today. They were actually cheaper than the chuckeyes this week and they were tasty

I took off work today so we could have our canceled memorial day dinner.
Ground a 9 lb. brisket for burgers.


Thick sliced and grilled a 8 lb. butt to go with the burgers.

Made some beans and baked some of last years Kennebec taters for sides. It was all great but the burgers were awesome! Everyone said it was the last jar of sandwich stacker pickles I had been holding back for the occasion that made the burgers over the top. I didn't disagree.

Thanks to.much assistance from my better half, we smoked 2 big butts yesterday:

Then we made a pulled pork bbq pizza for supper:

And finally we canned up the remaining 15 pints of pulled pork for later enjoyment....

I couldn't have done even half of it without hubby's help. I still can't lift anything over 10# and can't be on my feet a whole lot either. And everthing flat wears me out. I know it's for the best but dang, I'm frustrated!

Never had grilled butt…well besides country style ribs. How do you get it tender?
