Last Sunday I deep fried a 10lb. bag of leg quarters and fixed a 5 gallon bucket full of poke for our family meal. I wish I had gotten a picture of the platter of chicken but it gets hectic here at feedin time every once in a while.

Damn it that’s what mine was missing tonight. I meant to pull some but got sidetracked.

Kroger had briskets on sale couple weeks ago. Needed to be cooked so threw it on before we went fishing this morning.

Baloney for dinner today.

Didn’t take any pics but broke in my new Blackstone this morning. Bacon, egg, sweet peppers, onions and pepper Jack grilled cheese with red petite seasoned grilled potatoes. It wasn’t a masterpiece but a heck of a first grill meal.

So I decided to make Barney’s sub rolls today. Mixed my dough and formed a nice ball in my stand mixer bowl…

Let it rise and it came plumb out of the bowl and stuck to the foil I covered it with leaving a not too pretty ball for the picture.

Punched down and divided the dough into 8 pretty balls but they weren’t very solid and flattened out.

Made my rolls as per Barney’s directions and left to proof.

When they were tripled in size I topped with cheddar and Italian herbs and popped in oven.

They came out kinda flat instead of thick but that’s how it goes sometimes I guess, no picture. I fired up the griddle and cooked up some ground brisket topped with green onions, bell peppers, cheddar and American cheese with some added homemade sloppy joe sauce and enjoyed Philly cheesesteak sloppy joe’s. Tasted pretty good with enough for tomorrow leftover.

BTW this is some pretty crappy software, every picture posted the first time at the very top rather than where my cursor was and had to delete and repost to get it right. Too many pictures for that BS and this software ain’t cheap. Just saying.

We had dressed up pizza today too.

We canceled our brisket burgers and grilled butt strips cookout today for rain. Wife and me had corn chips and Red Barron pizza with extra cheese and toppings.

Last two Red Barons Ive had sorta did a number on the gut. Maybe I should run them with an Ale 8???

I love a good leftover brisket sandwich with extra sharp cheddar and a smear of horseradish sauce.
