Hope these turn out. Church down the road was giving away produce and I stopped and got a bunch of banana peppers, Poblano peppers, a dozen jalapenos, couple heads of cabbage, and 12 ears of corn so been trying to pickle the peppers and may try to make some sort of chowder in next day or two with the rest of the peppers and the other stuff. Having trouble finding jars all the sudden

Hard to beat on a Friday night! Okra (fresh from the garden), catfish nuggets (that one of us caught last year), crab cakes, and homemade mac & cheese! We may have to grow okra every year from now on.....

Well got 24 half pints altogether and had 2 not seal. 5 sealed pints of pickled banana peppers,6 sealed jalapenos, 6 sealed pablona and banana mix, and 5 pablona sealed. 1 each of banana and pablona that didn't.

Oh and lunch was home canned venison chili with crackers & peanut butter.....

Looks good. I may have to get a recipe or at least some advice in canning venison if we manage to harvest any
OH that looks good. You needed a peanut butter sandwich.
I Need a good secret chili recipe like that . For some reason mine isn't turning out right.

Almost forgot I also got some pickled quail eggs in the making. I just dropped em in a jar of pickled jalapeno juice.

With leftover shrimp and sharp cheddar topped by two end heaps of Phili cheese and all wrapped within a fried flour tortilla...

Four thighs, bone-in/skin-on, since drained of vinegar base and now covered, slow cooking within salted butter along with bacon and with sliced red potatoes topped with previously prepared veggies...

I’m mad at myself for not thinking to thaw out some venison for chili this weekend. Looks good!
