I sliced 3 onions, and a few cloves of garlic in the bottom of a Dutch oven, then placed a layer of cubed steak on top of em. Salt, pepper, then a gallon bag of bell peppers, and the rest of that half gallon jar of maters on top with a shake of Italian seasoning. An hour in the oven covered, on the bottom rack, then an hour uncovered to reduce. Served it with some Pontiac mashed taters, a roll, and cow butter.
What temperature was the oven?
Thank you, Sir!
It was delicious!
375°, and forgot to mention the healthy dash of Worcestershire sauce.
Supper was mighty good last night... Made Mongolian venison and paired it up with broccoli along with carryout hot & sour soup and spring rolls!
Looks great LH. That hot and sour soup hits the spot ,hold the tofu crap.
Another bean I like really well is the mayocoba bean. I cooked up a pot of those today for our meal.
I also pulled a ham out of a freezer I had bought last spring and sliced it for sandwiches. Pretty good hams, I think they were originally intended for restaurants but our Kroger ended up with a bunch of em. I used the scrap pieces to make a couple of pounds of deviled ham to go with the beans today.
I got some carrots out of the cellar for dessert while I was in there as well.
Mighty fine looking carrot cake!
Thanks you, Sir!
It's delicious, and I can't wait to hit it again tomorrow!
Thats the only way i like carrots..in a cake. And thats a dandy looking one there. Mighty fine looking meal all together.
Got a good deal on ribeyes tonight, get to eat one of these beauties once a week for the next 2 months, including chicken fried ribeye tonight and one on the grill tomorrow to enjoy the warm weather
Barney, can we get that recipe?
I used this recipe, but I divided the batter into 3 pans instead of 2 and slightly reduced the bake time. I think it was 32 minutes when I pulled the cakes out of the oven perfectly set. I also doubled the cream cheese icing recipe for 3 layers. It's a dandy cake!
