My Gawd!! I’m on a low calorie diet and you post a pic of baloney mater and cheese sandwich with pork and beans!! That’s like 2500 calories!! Man I need strength! I can taste it, I really can.

I was wanting the can of pork and beans. My mouth is watering. The baloney sandwich would be like icing on a cake.
I did get my bologna sammich but it sure didn't look like Barneys.
It did hit the spot though.

Y'all made such a deal over that bolony sandwich I had for dinner I kinda feel ashamed to show supper. Swiss steak has always been a favorite of ours.
I sliced 3 onions, and a few cloves of garlic in the bottom of a Dutch oven, then placed a layer of cubed steak on top of em. Salt, pepper, then a gallon bag of bell peppers, and the rest of that half gallon jar of maters on top with a shake of Italian seasoning. An hour in the oven covered, on the bottom rack, then an hour uncovered to reduce. Served it with some Pontiac mashed taters, a roll, and cow butter.
got lunch for tomorrow....need to dig through the freezer now. Want to fry up some small chickens i got in there for Sunday. May find some crappie for Saturday
That ain't no bologna sammich but I could make do with it.
Give the brining a try with the chicken if you haven't. Like said, a game changer!
Salt water or buttermilk?
Salt water. I just guessed at the salt I used on the thighs, probably 1/4 cup of salt to a quart of water soaked overnight. I swear, my plate was covered in juice when I finished eatin' that thing. My wife looked at me about the time I finished and said she had never seen anybody that looked like they have enjoyed a piece of chicken any more.
