Gawd. There's those Rolls again.
I concur. Don't receive double shots of novocaine within the mouth, unless it's warm, dry, and super comfortable weather. I'm STILL miserable feeling...
Those hearts would be cute for Valentine's Day, but cannot claim to possess the motivation, myself. I have long had my great grandmother's miniature maize cast iron piece and used it only once all these years.
My favorite thing to do with cornbread is crumble it into a tall glass of milk and eat all via spoon as a late night snack. Tis known as a True Southern Delicacy, and is especially delicious when bacon grease is used within the cast iron to bake all. Yum Yum!
Every single time I take a pan of those rolls out of the oven, the warm, wafting, and intoxicating aroma takes me back to a time of innocence.
Damn. I thought I had problems. Never thunk about banner puddin vs deviled eggs. Thanks for taking one for team.
Not sure about innocence. A slight breeze of anything gave me wandering thoughts. Definitely one of my favorite school foods though.

Meh, I wear two masks.
Double masking is just plain common sense.
That must be at least a hundred years back?
Currently at the country woman's restaurant down the road and it is quite packed for lunch, good for her. Nobody in here is wearing a mask nor socially distancing and a few are even puffing away upon cigs, lol. There is no way people could get away with this elsewhere.
I'm staying away from her rib eye in the future, thinking she needs to order thicker cuts or cuts from elsewhere. Going with scrambled eggs, hash browns with onions and heavy pepper, as well as toast and jelly. Out the door we go.
Still working on the free Christmas ham. I used some ham trimmings and rind to season a pot of white cornfield beans today. Another bean variety I have maintained since the 80's. A pole bean that is good at any stage, green snaps, shellies, or dried. Just like the Goose bean, it has a smooth creamy interior, very little splitting during cooking, and has virtually no skin.
I went back to the pot 3 times!
Man, you starvin me to death.
I came home and wife had white beans and cornbread with salmon patties and had made a peach cobbler. Man did she do good. I’m still full.
White beans are my favorite. White beans, salmon patties, mac n maters, spinach and corn bread is probably my favorite meal.
