Water in Florida lakes has that dark color. It’s 20 lb green braid. Should be good. Not flipping. Short casts.

I disagree with that. Flouro is the most abrasive resistant line I have found around rocks. Braid is the worst. Just my opinion from my experience.

I don’t really think color makes a difference. I use straight braid on extremely clear/deep lakes. Maybe if you are fishing 3-4’ for bed fish.

We will be fishing visible cover out to maybe 7-8’. Probably not bedding but pre-spawn for sure.

I also focus on pads or other vegetation in Fl and use straight braid mostly. I think it helps cut stems. Never had good luck with it around chunky rock though. Keep it checked often.

We haven’t found fish in vegetation on my previous trips. What vegetation there is, is in very shallow water. I’m just spooling braid on one reel. I’ll go back to mono if I’m not happy with it.

And a pain in the ass when you get hung up. You can damage a spool if you're not careful.

    That’s why I only got 20 lb.

I haven’t damaged a spool but my buddy hung an alabama rig once and tied it to his boat cleat and trolled away to try to break it. Cut a notch in the gel coat of his bass boat

Thinner diameter actually digs into the spool worse causing worse backlashes. I don’t go any lighter than 50# on baitcasters

Exactly. I only use braid on my frog rod, but it's #65 power pro. It's big enough it usually acts like mono on the spool

Yep 65 for frogs and light alabama rigs, 80 for big alabama rigs and some swimbaits

Yeah, I don't fish for money so I don't fool with braid on my baitcasters only on my spinning reels with a fluorocarbon leader. Used it once upon a time when it was the latest greatest new thing. I found it a PITA.

Well hell, I might take that spool of braid back.
