FYI,
Just so you know how Haitian refugees can effect Bacon in the US.
Haiti is experiencing an out break of African Swine Fever. We all know how African Swine Fever has destroyed China's swine population.
If just one of these refugees from Haiti is carrying this bug over here to the US. We are toast.
Texas has a large population of wild hogs and it can spread from those.
They are going to be shipping these refugees all over the US.
You don't hear anything said about this in the news.

I'm afraid it is just a matter of time before the virus gets here. I wasn't aware that it is in Haiti. It will be in Mexico soon and from there there is no stopping the spread into the US.

This is a big deal.

The article indicates cases have been reported in the Dominican Republic....

This virus will live on the bottom of a shoe for a long time - from memory (which isn't as good as it used to be) up to six months. So if any of the Haitians just happened to walk across the island to the DR and then head to Mexico....Once it gets into the wild pigs in Mexico it will be here.

I'm sure the industrial hog farms are taking all precautions, but this stuff can be carried by anything that touches the manure from an infected pig.

It won't infect all hog farms, but it will get some. It's just a matter of time.

Timer,
You are correct. This will demolish the US pork industry

Time will tell. Probably prudent to be well stocked with pork, before price increases. As for the law breakers, they are illegal aliens, and every last one of them should be quickly deported back to their place of origin (they aren't all from Haiti), blacklisted from ever returning. The only exception should be the recently born anchor babies, while not their relative(s) having broken the law.

Forced myself to listen to only a few minutes of the extremely annoying and hard upon the eyes White House Press Secretary not long ago. Such caused me to muse upon whom the retard might actually be, responsible for coaching her upon her hand gestures while speaking. I have formed the following hypotheses, it's the very same retard coaching The House Drinker. Both women look ridiculous, attempting to outclass the Queen of England with their exaggerated antics.

Anyway, she said the following, in reference to those having most recently broken the law within Texas:

"...every migrant that [sic whom] comes across the border irregularly...".

First, they are aliens, not "migrants", and they came across the border illegally, not "irregularly"; hence, they are illegal aliens, not irregular migrants. She is a moron of epic proportion.

Should be interesting to see whether Governor DeSantis' request deadline is timely met by September 30th.

"The letter also requests that DHS provides information to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) no later than September 30, 2021, regarding:

  • the number of illegal aliens resettled in Florida;
  • the names and destination of the illegal aliens;
  • the number of illegal aliens resettled in Florida who were tested for COVID-19 and the results of such tests;
  • the identities of illegal aliens who have criminal records and who have previously entered the U.S. illegally; and
  • the number and identity of illegal aliens resettled in Florida who have failed to appear for their removal proceedings."
