I have a few Autumn Olive bushes on my property and have seen several species of wildlife browsing on the berries. I've never thought they would be editable for human consumption though. There is another plant: Russian Olive out there too, and this along with Autumn Olive variety are both invasive species.

I worked for a while with an older guy who made a batch of wine from autumn olives, it didn't taste very good!

We've made jellies and pies. We use an old grinding mill to get the seeds out. My advise though....GET RID OF THE SHRUBS before it's too late. It's too late for me...save yourself.

Then you should lay off peaches, pasta, ketchup, and throw out your guns because those all originated in China too.

I, like you, didn't think these berries were edible. My Mama always told me don't eat red berries from wild bushes.

Chinamen didn’t invent guns, they invented gunpowder. Big difference. Ketchup is gross….but that’s a Native American contribution. You can have the pasta and peaches (which I’m skeptical peaches came from China).

I would recommend to that guy not to make that face when he is eating them and claiming they are delicious. I found that part funny.
