Of course nothing is guaranteed after you do draw. I had a unit 10 rifle tag 15 yrs ago, saw 78 bulls, passed on 4-5 350-360s, was after one much larger. Ate my tag.....
Kill or not tags like that are all about the experience. Obviously everyone wants to kill a 400 but sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn’t. I just hope by the time I have enough points to start applying it’s not another 30 years

Wife and i hunted with USO in Az many years ago. George still running it? Didnt know they were still in business. One time they put us in for a hunt, we drew tags, was suppose to be points only. Kind of screwed our deer plans up. Another time I drew an Az elk tag using their service, they tried to force me to use their guides. I was done with them after that.
Not sure what the magic number is. She's one of 321 people with 24 or more pts. Assuming everyone wants the low tag/hard to draw trophy units. The unit she wants offers 5 NR tags. Several other trophy units offer limited tags. If everyone just applied for pts only, she could draw. If everyone applied for a hunt, it could take a few more years. I have these point total list going back a few years so I could see how we move up the list. We recently moved and I can't find crap now. I drew an elk tag several yrs back so I'll probably never be able to draw the tag she's after, that's why I'm after another unit I could draw in. Actually thought I'd pull the tag I applied for.
You can draw some units with less pts. Also, some units have "random" tags that could be drawn with no pts or 10 pts.
Chris, how many sheep pts you have? I have 22, Myra 21, my two boys 15 & 13. Since my boys have most of December as Christmas break, I'm putting them in also. We'll wet our pants if we ever see "drawn". I have a "not drawn" list as long as my arm.Sorta glad I didn’t draw Elk or Antelope in AZ. Gonna make this Sheep tag much sweeter when I see “SUCCESSFUL” in the draw category!
