Only heard 4 birds and they were WAY off. Not vocal this morning.
Gobblin their heads off here this morning.
Not a peep here so far this morning
Friday morning I probably heard 100 gobbles from multiple gobblers and jakes that were roosted near each other. Today those same birds weren’t as vocal but still gobbled often. Wife watched 2 separate groups enter the back yard as me and my twin grandsons sat in a blind 100 yards behind the house! This was in Jefferson.
I love the last week of season and have always taken that week off. Did that this year and killed my second bird Tuesday morning. But I also hunt often during the first 3 weeks including weekends and will take off a random day or afternoon here and there. I love that last week.
Its been horrible here last few days, the last gobbler I heard open his mouth , swallowed a load of Hevi shot. Just not gobbling here last few days at anything, I have had 2 different ones come in, no gobbling, no strutting, not anything just marched by me about 20 yards , If I knew there wasnt any here, be one thing, but they are, I know a couple you guys are hearing a lot of gobbles, im having hens at times out here in front of me cutting and yelping their heads, they cant even produce a gobble, if anybody has to many gobblers , and can catch a few, and bring them over this, the hens here are having a problem finding one, it seems
The key to having success in late season is to know when to go home in early season!
If birds are henned up leave them alone and don't throw the kitchen sink at them, then when the hens are done he won't of heard every call you've got.
Had four birds going crazy this AM. Got about 100 yards away from a nice one with 4 hens. Couldn’t get him interested. . It’s been fun today.
Heard two gobbles Thursday in Owen co. Did not hear a gobble on Friday in Boone county. Did not hear a gobble in Owen Co on Saturday.
Woke up to 4 birds gobbling on the roost Saturday morning while camping. I wish I could wake up to turkeys gobbling every morning
Dueling Gobblers here today! Hearing turkey in places I never heard them before! Like outside my bedroom window.
well of course they are gobbling today, they have to let us know we can’t go after them anymore
Funny, last year I had birds gobbling into the third week of June. This year I haven't heard a bird since the 2nd weekend! They are there, they just aren't vocal!
Five hens and large Tom out in my back yard!!!! Well 300 yards out. Four of the hens are laying in the grass and he is just a struttin about.
