Funny how we relax on our must kill mindset as we age! Had a chance yesterday evening to get out. But never climbed, set up, or stopped. Just enjoyed easing through the woods scouting a new place. Don’t hunt as hard, deep, long, or serious as I once did. No longer go to extremes trying to have no scent, pee, or to have the perfect set up. Sure still enjoy being there though. It’s not just about the kill anymore.

We think alike Carp ( and that scares me! 😳).
If i were bent on killing a deer id bait, do the scents, get the latest greatest scen loc camo suit, and a tricked out crossbow with all the latest gadgets. I guess id just feel like id cheated if i did. Its going to be my way, or no way at all.
I may just throw the ghillie suit on and ease around some this evening. Maybe.

I spend 150+ days a year hunting… if I did everything “right” I’d spent my entire income on scents, laundry and face paint.

I’m perfectly content sitting or walking all day and not seeing a single target species.

I have a ghillie poncho, killed my first deer from a deer stand with a bow this year… Ive killed all mine off the ground or “still” hunting walking during wind or rain.
