I just converted my AR back to 5.56 and have an 18" bison armory 6.8 spc barrel, a bolt, some mags and some ammo for sale if you are interested.
I am in the Lexington area. I have the barrel, (3) 30 round mags, (2) 20 round mags, and (2) 10 round mags. Around 80 rounds of ammo (60 of wilson combat) and the bolt. $300 for it all.
I finally got to put a few rounds through the Grendel,"actually my 10 YO son did". I don't have the room to stretch out any further than 50 yards at my house. But I'm really liking this upper from BCA
Nothing but good things to say about BCA. They are about 25 miles up the road from here, close to Ft Bragg. If you are military or veteran they will do a 10% discount. Couple years ago they had an overstock on .223 Wylde barrels and actually gave one away free to every vet/active that asked.
That's awesome. Hell, I'm half tempted to put together another 6.5G just because it's cheap. LOL After wielding mine around this past weekend, I really want to build a LIGHTWEIGHT one though. Mine's awfully hefty for toting through the woods n such. But it's a 24" heavy barrel and 15" rail. Need CF barrel and rail.
Going to Keno shooting range tomorrow and see what 100 yard groups looks like. My son is really liking this Grendel, I just got a reloading press a few days ago and he's asked every night this week if we can "build bullets tonight." I've still got a few thing to buy before reloading ammo just yet.
For some reason many ARs in 7.62x39 have feeding issue .. The best one are the ARs specially built to chamber 7.62x39.. You have to make sure it's not a run of the mill AR with 7.62 upper thrown on it..
Been reading up on converting my SKS's to AK mags looks fairly easy.. Wish my VZ58 took AK mags as well , but I do have several mags for it.
