I use the "you need a map" app for hunting, fishing, and hiking. The app is huge at 1.9GB, but it stores the entire USA as a topo map on your phone so you don't have to have cellphone service to use it.
You forgot to mention that it is also FREE! That's a big bonus.

It is amazing that something this useful is free when big name handheld GPS companies charge $100+ for add on programs to their gps to do the same thing.
Cabela's recon hunt. It replace my gps and has more features. I use it all the time.
I use Spyglass for hunting and navigation. It works when offline and supports several map types. The most helpful function for me is the ability to mark spots and waypoints for tracking.
