add two bottles of everclear.
This stuff is actually pretty good. I made some the other day, I was a little tipsy..
Then you didn't make it right. just saying. lol
Quick question, after it's cooled and mixed, can I put it into plastic bottles or does it have to go in glass containers? I'd like to out it back in the plastic jugs the cider and juice came in but will the alcohol store in that? I'm thinking it should becuz you can buy alcohol in plastic bottles. Thanks.
yes you can. it will be fine.
too good of a thread not to bump
Read every word and now I am thirsteeeeeeee. Had a peach version of this sat night. Both the apple and peach had several pieces of the fruit and a cinnimin stick in the jar. Had a bass tourny the next day, almost didnt get outa bed lol
I had some made with the real article, and it gave me a headache that should have been sold to science. But I'm a sissy that way.
I still haven't made it which is pretty dang sad knowing I have a gallon of shine/white dog/everclear siting in my cupboard. Not knowing which it is really makes it difficult knowing how much to add. I will make some this winter to keep Duster warm after snow goose hunting. A quart should last him a couple evenings right?
By the way....the recipe posted isn't sweet is it? I have had 2 recipes that were great but 3 that were way too sweet.
I made some last week. I halved the recipe except for the Everclear. It was very good! I like to drink it over ice. The batch didn't last long .....
I just lit the fire on the stove and making over 2 gallons now.
Edit....wouldn't you know it showed upside down
Whoooooo doggy! This stuff tastes great! I was pretty worried adding in the 2nd 750ml of shine bc it smelled strong and worried I would either have to toss it or add more juice. Stupid easy to make. Made 9.5 quarts.
I see a few headaches in the future.
As I am finishing off this half quart in front of the fireplace, I think it's a bit sweet. I would try making it with 2 cups of sugar next time. Also, instead of brand name cinnamon sticks priced at $4 for 5, I bought a big container for a dollar more and a hundred or so in there. But they are about an inch shorter. Could use more. I just tossed an extra stick into a quart and will try it sometime this week.
It's also not as heart warming going down as the others I have tried. I put 2 5ths in, may add an extra pint next time.
Yeah, my husband & I both thought it was too sweet as well. We made 3 or 4 batches last year anyway though.... lol! Need to pick up the fixin's and try it with less sugar...
p.s. I thought we were out but he found a jar that had gotten shoved into the back of our backup frig in the basement the other day. Over a year old & still tasted GOOD!!!!
What's the best way for someone to go about procuring some shine?
