I keep 4 buck in my shotgun, just haven't had the opportunity to use it yet.
Wildcat, what light are you using on your hat for the halo?
This is what I got. At the time the package had a different brand of light but this is the very same set up.
If your going to put a light on your shotgun and shoot 3 1/2 mags then I recomand this.
Here's all the stuff he sells for night hunting. He WILL take your emails and answer all your questions.
I am using Hevi Shot Dead Coyote 3" T shot. Its INSANELY expensive though ($5 a shell). I have heard that hornady make a really good one for coyotes ($18 a box) too but i wasnt able to find it here in Lexington in time for my first night out. I really want to find out which one patterns best out of my choke but i dont want to use those shells to find out. Anyone else using their turkey choke for coyotes? I am using my Primos Jelly Head Max (.655") Should i buy one specifically for coyotes? How much of a difference would it really be? If its not that much of a difference i wouldnt want to spend another $80 on a choke.
I like the Rem 3" #4 buckshot(41 pellets) and the Federal in the same numbers. Cost $5-7 per box of five. I tried the coyote choke and was not happy with the pattern. I use x-full turkey chokes in my 3 guns. The Stoeger likes the Rem best with Fed a close 2nd. My Rem 11-87 prefers the Rem by a large margin. My best shooter is an Ithaca M-66, cut down goose gun with screw-in chokes. It will shoot either brand of ammo. I shot several boxes of shells when patterning my guns and was shocked on how certain guns/chokes prefer certain ammo. I am using the NightEyes headlight and gunlight.
Those Hornady Heavy Mag Coyote shells require a Imp Cyl or Mod Choke, they will NOT work in a full choke.
I use Hevi Shot Dead Coyote "T" shot in 3 1/2 mag with Carson's Dead Coyote Choke.
