Anyone think the Fort Campbell rules are worth the trouble?

Don't know anything about the area but noticed they have a long gun season and some nice bucks on their photo link. I have a cousin who lives in the area and I have hunted in the area so it makes me wonder if it would be worth the drive from Elizabethtown and paying for the access to the base. Anyone hunted there before or presently willing to say much about the place? Knowing nobody likes to give out good info. about good areas so I'm wondering what kind of answers I might get but just curious. Thanks.

There are some giants in Ft Cambell. YouTube "Ft Cambell Poachers Press Conference" and see the giants that those guys killed over the years. I do not promote poaching but it gives you an idea of what's around that area

I hunted it a time or two when I was there on active duty... Definitely some big deer, not as pressured as some areas. At the end of the day, though, it's zone specific (I can't recall good vs bad, though). Give it a shot - can't hurt anything, and if nothing else you rule out a possibility.

That video was unreal!!

The same thing goes on at Ft Knox. The problem is actualy catching the ones doin it, and they need to enforce the same rules to EVERYONE, regardless of Tier, history, or friendship with the leadership running the show.

Not sure but I think all the negativity here is just to discourage hunters from enjoying some of the best public access hunting in the state. Seen a few deer out the couple of times I made it out but nothing to make me squeeze the trigger. After this weekends youth hunt there should be plenty more areas open to enjoy!!
