Anyone lose a setter in Woodford County?

Animal control picked up an orange/white setter in Woodford County this week. Good looking 1-2 year old dog. No collar, anyone missing one?

Reckon the pound will let you take it for a test run? Can't tell a bird dog by just looking.

There are setters, and there are bird dogs, and I reckon I've had a few of both...

A valued bird dog is going to have a collar with ID. A non-hunter that gets dropped off never has that.

Yep, agreed. Dad picked up a couple project females in the last two weeks. Free or cheap, so he has something to keep him busy now. However, I will say he has turned several into bird dogs that anybody would take.

bird dog or setter pets, good dogs & good friends, go for it. one of my best was free.

It has a chip, and was bought from a breeder in IL

Reckon the pound will let you take it for a test run? Can't tell a bird dog by just looking.

better yet, see if they will keep it and let you take it out on weekends.

If it's chipped shouldn't they be able to find the owner? I though that was what they were for?
