I drilled and tapped it for a zerk. Pumped it till I saw it coming out the blown seal. As long as the lower bearing is good it'll run forever.
It cuts great but every bolt needs to be replaced. I need to fill the gear box with grease. Need to replace the seek on the wheel. Maybe replace the 3 point pins. It should be fine starting out and then I can upgrade later.
I bought an old Woods Bat Wing 20 ft cutter last year. Rode Hard and put up wet, but didn't give much for it. $1500. I figured it be worth that for Scrap so I took a chance. Gearboxes leaked oil some pretty bad. I took the covers off and got a putty knife and 6 gallon can of grease and filled em up. Worked Perfect. SOB Cuts like a brand new one after I sharpened the blades. You can get something Done with a 20 footer.
Those Deere are heavy. I got a 15ft rhino heavy duty that’s not bad weight wise but the Deere Hx20 I got seems like it weighs twice as much. I guess a bunch of it is the deck. The newer Deere like mine is a double plated dome style deck.
My three choices in videos were much better than Barney's three choices in videos, and especially the last one you selected. Fact. I would absolutely love to go see an antique tractor show, for the very first time in my life. Some of the ones within that video are simply super cool. I would not mind owning a select few of them. Fact.
There is one in Paris Kentucky that we attend every other year or so. Sometimes we get the pressure washer out and clean up the old man’s Oliver G1355 take it to the show
Thank you very much. I have shot car shows before and would consider an antique tractor show to be an extremely fun change of pace [pun intended, "pace", get it? Lol). I shall most certainly issue query for both Paris and the tractor in which you have mentioned. Some of those within that video looked like locomotives, which is unsurprising while very cool !
