As hard as they were training they probably blasted every deer out of Knox, live close and they were flat cutting loose some big fire power for several days on end, has been a lot of good ones come out of those knobs over the years

I doubt they were spooked by training. You have to shoot over the deers backs at our gun range on the 300yd line. You can’t spook them off once they get used to it and feel safe. Having the orange army beating every bush might have spooked them though.

Yes I’m sure they used to it but they were really jamming over there few weeks ago, shaking the house and windows, almost like the old days of the tank divisions

That had less than shat to do with it. The deer numbers are much lower than what it used to be. Ain't blaming anybody, just saying. In the 80s they could quit firing a range by midnight, have it cleared for hunters by 4AM and kill 20 deer in a wknd no problem. The numbers just aren't there no more, blame it on browse converting back to mature forests, more impact vs open areas, qdma, etc. Those days of seeing 50 deer/day are long gone. This is big woods hunting. If you see 10/deer in a sit ur in a premo spot. Sad but true. It hurts my soul to say that about somewhere I learned to hunt.

I would also think that coyotes are taking a lot of fawns on Fort Knox

I have seen more big bucks going to work on ft Knox than I have ever seen hunting, sorry to hear the numbers are down,I always wanted to hunt it but to much red tape for me, glad it’s open for hunting privileges to people

Took this wide 9 pt on Veterans Day evening after 3 all day sits that week, with limited area open that week! Made for some tough bow hunts!

I don’t think the training ran the deer off. I seen several in my area just no shooter bucks. I will say I seen piles and piles of toilet paper and shit piles and MRE packs all in the fields and woods. That could have change the deer
