I'm considering buying a Honda Pioneer 520 or 700 (2 seater) within the next few months. Anybody Pioneer owners on here that can share your experience owing one? It will be used for chores around the yard and hunting. I have no plans for trail riding or working it very hard.
Thanks.

Love them. Go with the 700 if you want the dump bed or just need the extra space in the bed. If you plan on pulling a small trailer around the yard then the 500 will do just fine. 500 is more maneuverable. Good luck finding either.

Cousin has a 700 2 seater. Really good machine. Shaft drive set up is great. It will go anywhere, just won't do it fast. Top speed is around 43 mph..but as far as a utility buggy goes..it is awesome. Hard to find any type of atv/utv at the moment though unfortunately.

Got the wife a 1000 SE 3 months ago. Had to go to NC to get it. No dealer in ky had one and most dealers had a waiting list. They only get one in every 2-3 months.
Awesome so far. Big machine.

Thanks guys. I’m not in a big hurry. I might get on a wait list if we can agree on a reasonable price. Leaning towards the 700.

When I bought my ranger I had to put down a non refundable 500 dollar deposit to pre order. That was in April. I got it last week of September I think. I expect all UTV makers will be similar as far as a back log. There were none on the showroom any time I went in unless they were preorders that had just arrived. Weird times for sure.

Quote in July was under list which surprised me. Wait list was 80 units and up to a year . Curious to see what prices and leadtimes are now. Should have ordered then. Oh well, I can limp by with my old golf cart and four wheeler for a few months.

Honda builds good machines, no question. I’ve spent a good amount of time in a 700 Pioneer 4-seater and 1000 Ranger XP 3-seater. There is no comparison in ride comfort or power. The Polaris wins that hands down everyday of the week and twice on Sunday. I don’t really care for the automotive style shifting. It’s not super smooth. Just seems weird after driving so many CVT transmissions.
