Chartreuse or white swim bait or grub , 1/8 or 1/4 oz. Spinning rod with 8lb line. You'll know it when they hit.I’m going to try them out for the first time this year, Salt River out of my canoe. Plan to put in at either Van Buren or River Road. Any tips or advice would be appreciated.
FWIW, they're not at Van Buren yet. We checked it yesterday morning. There's a decent channel plum up to the split. Just stay in it and take it slow.Keep us posted.
How do ya get from Van Buren up the creek? Last I saw silt had really built up and you couldn't get a boat through it. It's been several years though but even back then I always saw boats hugging the bank to find water deep enough
You'll bump your lower unit a little, but you'll manage. It's shallowest at the bridge. Drops off a little upstreamSo a Bass Tracker Grizzly shouldn't have any problem?
According to WPSD-TV weather it looks like the low pressure system is tracking far enough north that the 5” rains will miss most of us. Still looking at a pretty good 3-5” rain event along the river counties but nothing like that had on the table for the majority of the state yesterday thank God.With the forecast they're calling for it'll be blown out long before the weekend
