New baiting technique, hang bottle nipples from trees. That'll surely get them spotted critters coming in. Fine kill, BTW Enjoy that backstrap.
Man, I don't care that you want to bust his chops, but back it up a little. Give us about three reasons why this man should not have shot this doe. Besides being a bit less heavy than a six year old doe, what is the difference?
If you really want to get torqued up you can bust my chops for this button buck that had just lost his spots. Shameful, I know.
Believe I need to invent a better ladder stand, one that is part recliner, I don't think I'd ever leave the woods if I had something like that.
I tried that a few years back. I used pacifiers and bottle nipples. Brought in too many suckers and whiners.
Got this one early this morning going in. Was close to day break, and legal shooting light IMO. I was going up the road to park and it crossed over in front of me and stopped about 40 yards. It kept looking behind it for some reason so I eased out of the truck, got my bow and was able to harvest it with a two blade rage in the cage. Dropped right in it's tracks. No meat from this one because by the time I got home with it after showing it off, I was afraid too much time had elapsed and the meat could be ruined. Everybody wants to look at a big buck these days, and will talk your heads off about big ones they have missed or seen over the years. It was a good day.. Already cleaned his antlers of velvet, but a lot of them have done that early this year for some reason. Guess it is the weather.
"Daddy, remember that fawn you told me not to shoot 4 yrs ago, well he's a twelve pointer now, and there was two other fawns with him daddy. Their gonna grow up to be just like him"."Daddy I got em!! That old twelve pointer come back through this morning. I'm so glad I waited on him to get bigger".
Beautiful night now that I'm in the shade. Just seen two does about 80 yards out along the river moving. Good sign with 2 hours of daylight left.
