Not saying that the last few mythical national champions have not been right, just wish it was settled on the field instead of the popularity contest on TV and radio.

"Loser: CBS. The network continues to act as if there is no legitimate college football unless it is played in the SEC. Coincidentally, CBS owns rights to SEC games. Upon hearing the West Virginia score against Baylor, 70-63, in the Big 12 on Saturday, lead broadcaster Verne Lundquist said, “Sounds like Arena ball.’’ Analyst Gary Danielsen chimed in: “Exactly.’’ Meantime, Georgia was beating Tennessee, 51-44, in the SEC."

133-95 is still over 5 touchdowns different. I don't see how the comparisons are even close.

And for what its worth, last years Arena Bowl Championship score was 72-54.

So in your mind, the Tennessee vs. Georgia game was just a normal college football score? Heck, when Louisville's 2006 team beat West Virginia 44-34 the ESPN hacks said THAT was a high scoring game. You see the comparison quite clear, you just don't want to agree with them.

6 team playoff, byes to the two top ranked teams. Those two teams must be conference champions.

    Fixing this is easy.

    A. What a ridiculous criticism. Virtually every sports announcer in America made exactly the same comment - from Sports Center to Local news sportscasts. It was an Arena League football score. I also fail to see how it was in any way a slam against any non-SEC schools or it demonstrated a pro-SEC bias. Hell, I heard both Lundquist and Danielson make several comments about how "embarrassing" the defenses were for both UGa and UT during the course of that game.

    B. It's pretty evident that the SEC is the best football school by a longshot. Other than the occasional USC or Texas team, the SEC pretty has pretty much dominated the football landscape over the last 10-20 years. And I'm not a huge SEC proponent. I actually like watching WVU and Geno Smith. I hope they continue to pour it on the Big 12 schools and get to play in the championship game. It would be interesting to see whether they can move the ball against a team like Bama. My guess would be that they'd get trounced.

For a high-scoring college football game, the UT-UGA game was typical. I never said that I didn't believe there was a lot of offense in that game and when I saw that score originally, I probably thought it was a high scoring game. But to compare that to a game that was scoring over 5 more touchdowns is crazy. And I also don't understand what your issue really is and how Verne's opinion on the game leads to a call of a playoff system.

Oh hey guys, its cloudy here in L'ville, but I still have tomatoes on the vines in my garden. Danggit! We need to have a college football playoff system that starts in, oh, I don't know, lets say, 2 years- 2014! Who's with me?

Oh, and who wouldn't rather watch a high scoring game, be it in the Big 12 or SEC, vs a 9-6 final score #1 vs #2 match up?

If that's what you want, check this out:

That was a terribly played 9-6 game. The score was indicitive of the quality of that game. But there are some 7-0 and 3-0 games that are fabulous examples of well played football.

There is a huge difference in quality of games where you have offense that is stifled by great defense as opposed to watching offense that is unable to be stopped by the defense.

(NBC) - Think you're a big football fan? How about living through a plane crash on your way to the game, and still making kickoff? It actually happened to a group of Alabama fans on Saturday.

"I really thought we weren't going to make it for awhile. I'm ready to be with the Lord, but I've got a lot of family and stuff," said John White-Spunner, one of the plane survivors.

White-Spunner is an Auburn grad, but his Bama buddies convinced him to join them on their trip to Tuscaloosa.

They had planned a quick stop in Selma for some barbecue. That's when it all went bad.

One of the engines died. Moments later, the other engine began to sputter. 20 miles from the airport, they were quickly losing altitude. They prepared for a crash landing.

At 100 miles an hour, they could see nothing but tree tops. Then they spotted a dirt road. It was a crimson runway, but they literally were not out of the woods just yet.

They clipped the trees, ripping the plane's wings apart.

The captain, George Arnold managed to maneuver the wounded Cessna into a cotton field, but the danger wasn't over. Fuel was pouring out of a ruptured fuel tank.

A nearby family heard the plane go down, and came over the hill expecting to see something much different.

"They got out of their car, and everybody started hugging. We got in a circle, and got on our knees and said a prayer to Jesus," Arnold said.

When they realized they still had time to make it to the game, the gang got moving, and made it in time for kickoff.

Louisville fans can hardly make it to a game from the parking lot by kickoff.

UK fans cannot even find the parking lot, much less the stadium. Mitch Brainfart should be in prison for theft. Nobody has ever stolen as much money as he and the UK athletic department has from the SEC!

LMAO So are the thief's in Lexington going to pay back the money they have been defrauding? Or are they going to continue to be welfare recipients? Who knew it, UK fans are socialists. They are fans of a program that cannot support itself and has to rely on food stamps and other assistance from the programs that can actually perform. I guess this means you are voting for Obama I would assume. After all, you have proven you are all about sharing the wealth of others that can actually earn it!

You are awfully easy Wampus, good thing you are not a woman!

Hey Tim who won the national championship in 2011? Throwing jabs because no decent conference will take lil brother. Why wont they? academics are sub par. no one gives a $hit about Louisville except about 1/2 of that city. No money, no interest. You and the whole program come off as the woman scorned.(Karen Sypher style).

UofL future; Strong leaves at the end of the year. Rick retires soon. with no conference, no money, no real following the program declines gradually.

UK future; we continue to win NC's in basketball, new head football coach, money to burn, we win 8-9 games a year and everyone is happy in Commonwealth. This is realistic thinking.

LMAO I nearly pissed myself from laughing so hard. So you are expecting that UK will actually use the stolen cash and actually spend the money on a coach? And you expect 8 or 9 win seasons! Hilarious, when was the last time they won 8 games? I guess you have to go back to the days of leather helmets and no face masks. Yet you call this pipe dream realistic?

You only have to go back to the 2007 season for 8 wins. When was L'ville's last 8 win season?
