I've got a 6th anniversary coming up and it being a holiday I thought I'd go ahead and post it here before everybody took off.
On July 4, 2003 I smoked my last cigarette.
I smoked for more than 30 years and the last 5 I was smoking 3 packs a day. I made up my mind to quit and picked a target date, I made it July 4th so the whole nation could celabrate with me.
I know some might get tired of this but if it helps one person who's thinking about quiting I'm going to keep posting it.
I've kept a running total on how much money I've saved since I quit. In 2003 prices I've saved $16,380
If I average it out between 2003 and 2009 prices then I've saved $18,564
Either way for what I've saved I could have gone on a fully guided elk hunt out west every two years and had money left over. That's a lot to go up in smoke.
