An early old gobbler

    I set up on this bird about 150 yards away this morning on the roost. I only made one call just before he flew down at 6:45. Next time he gobbled he was on the ground about 80 yards away. I made a couple of soft clucks and he came straight on in struttin and gobblin... He was dead at 6:50 am. A real nice bird. 1 1/2 inch hooks. Sun was just coming up when I took these pics. Now it's time to do some fishin.. And check out that alfalfa... I can't wait till September...

    That's a hoss. Congrats. Alfalfa looks lush. I'm sure there will be pics from there with lots of bone soon.

    I've never had a turkey mounted before, but that one is now at Gunner's. I decided last year the next turkey I got with really long sharp spurs,, I was going to have mounted (on the roost, half strut). I had taken several before around an inch and quarter, but that was the first one I ever got that was inch and a half.
