Sitting traps today and had this fella start strutting in front of me and he wouldn’t leave.
These 2 we're hammering all morning
Gets my old heart a thumping.
Can't wait. Got 3 toms coming to feeder everyday. No hen pics at all. Ain't been either. That maybe transgender idk
They'll be done before season opens. Hahaha. .
Isn't that why the season opens "late" in Ky? So the hens can be bred for next year before the LB leave the earth
Yes, notice the "hahaha " in my post. Made that comment in jest because I'm sure that some believe my statement to be true. I'm perfectly content with the KY season dates and believe later would be better than earlier.
Heard 4 different gobblers this morning
That’s what they all say. I’m glad people think this way. Lol
They not only say it, they believe it. Maybe they should just go fishing instead of turkey hunting.
Just admit turkeys as hard as it is for some to hunt just are not that smart, I hear and see them doing their thing on warm sunny days in what we think of as winter months and have for years. I had the Toms strutting with the hen flock the other day but today I had around 40 hens in the backyard and not a Tom in sight.
Turkeys don't only strut during breeding. They strut all year. They display for the hens, they strut to show dominance, they strut to intimidate other turkeys and other animals at a food source, they strut when they want to!
Yep they are getting really vocal on my places. There will be eggs on the ground way before season starts. Hopefully we have a good hatch this year. I hope there mating there little turkey brains out! haha
have not seen the first turkey on my farm in Waco.. closest I have seen them is on the DEPOT and I mean a bunch of them...
True I have seen strutters in DEC,JAN and FEB as well..
