About the New Forum Look

First off I want to apologize for "springing" the new look on everyone without any warning first.

I would also like to ask for patience while we make the transition to the newest version of the vBulletin forum and CMS (Content Management System).

The classifieds section will be back in a few days.

We will work on changing the theme over the next few days, but the new version is here to stay.

The transition of the new forum with the content stealing folks is a coincidence.

We are in the process of moving the site over to a new dedicated server over the next few days to help alleviate some of the slowness as all of our sites on our server are continuing to grow.

Please post any additional comments, questions or suggestions in this thread.

Last but not least ... this place is provided free of charge with a very minimal amount of advertising, etc ... so lets try not to bellyache about the change too much.

one suggestion, when you use the quick navigation tab it starts at the top instead of the page that your at. don't know if you can change this and I know it is minor. Eric

Overall.... its fine... just takes a little time to get use to.

My only complaints (trivial).....

1. Unless I'm missing something... the only way to reply to a thread is in a quick reply format.... even when you click "reply" or "reply with quote".

2. Theres not any way to preview your post before posting... again I may be missing something but I've yet to find it.

3. Theme.... which I read here your working on it. Seems with all the white background it does'nt really have any contrast with the text... for whatever reason I have a hard time reading it. Could be my own eye issues but with some brighter colors( instead of the white & dull blue/grey) ... it would make it a little easier visually.

Thats it... and thanks for the site in general.

No complaints here, people griped about it the last time the forum changed but soon got over it. But like he said, its free

It was confusing me at first, but i'm getting used to it, and actually am liking this look better then the old one. Only suggestion I would have is if at all possible, make it to were the signatures are more distingushable from the post, seems like i'm reading everyone on heres signature everytime I read a post, and wondering, what in the world does that have to do with the topic?? Then I realize it's their signature. It's a small issue, but i'm sure I will get used to it in a few days also. Thanks for having this site, it's great.

Chad, the pale blue is hard to see.My eyes are old,a DARKER BLUE FOR MORE DIFINITION would be great.Other than that its good.THANKS

i gotta go with cp. im not old but it would be nice to have more of a definition between things. in reply to chads last statement. i do agree and love the lack of ads of this place. i used to frequent another forum but they have tons of ads it cuts into the posts when your trying to read its so trashy and i havent went back since. love the place chad and am getting used to the new look and do think cp has a good idea.

Ditto for me too. That light break doesn't really set the signature off enough.

Chad do you suspect that other Vbulletin based boards will be going to this format as well? It was really nice when all the boards I frequented were the same(ish) format.

Bingo. I like the fact that on this free forum I can go straight to what i want without wading through a bunch of ads and stuff. Most free places make you look at scads of advertisements.

One other thing I noticed while navigating about is that we lost the "go" button next to the drop down menu for navigation. Now we have a go to top thing instead. If you don't post you can just use your browsewr's back button but if you make a post you have to pull down the menu and find the sub-forum and click on it to go back to that sub-forum.
