I do understand how he felt.
I had the pleasure of escorting a trespasser off my property in Louisville a couple days ago. I was none too happy and let him know it. Rabbit hunter that wanted to try out his new gun. Said he’d been hunting there for 20 years. After I told him it had only changed hands once in the last 50 years and the owner before me didn’t allow hunting he kept saying “but I’m a veteran and POW”. I thanked him for his service and let him know I wouldn’t be as neighborly if I saw him again. Trespassers and thieves make my blood boil.
I was reminiscing on how my little area has changed in the last 50 years and it has moved from a backwoods almost inaccessible area "on the other side of the creek" to almost suburban.
And I don't like it.
That's progress as Kentucky has moved into the modern area with McDonald's and Dollar Stores on every corner.
When you get old enough to see these changes, perhaps you have lived long enough.
I've been thinking the same, JR.
The McDonald’s everywhere doesn’t surprise me, but the Dollar General stores in the middle of nowhere really took me back.
