A question for you Trappers and/or rodent experts. This rock looks like it's been gnawed on by some sort of critter.

A fellow found this rock in Montgomery County Ohio. It looks like it's been gnawed on by some sort of rodent or some sort of critter. If it has been chewed on I was wondering if someone here could tell me what would leave marks like this?

Definitely has all the hallmarks.

Looks like someone use a Dremel tool on it. The chewed places are not aged like the rest of the rock.
It may have some kind of mineral that some critter needs. If those are teeth marks (which I doubt) it would have to be a small animal.
Take a knife and scratch it to see how hard it is.

Have you ever heard of a rockchuck? Basically a high mountain version of a woodchuck.
Probably got a whole pack of them rockchucks gnawing on them rocks.
Just be glad you don’t have any of those Japanese Nunchuks. Those are really dangerous
