What is every ones thought about a 5 year old drawing a Bull gun tag.
Personally, I think that is too young...... That being said, if I had a son, he would probably have been shooting and hunting at age 5... I started at 7...... Maybe he is big for his age and can handle a 7mm08. I hope he kills a monster.
My step son is 5 and I can’t get him to shoot a red Ryder correctly
I just have mixed feelings. Don't know what to think. I do hope he kills.
Yeah it’s not appropriate nor is it realistic.
Maybe we should start a special season for kids 5 to newborn. We can let them have their shot before the 6-16 crowd gets in there and stirs everything up. That way everyone gets a trophy, we've got to grow the sport guys. Lol
Too young. Most 5 year olds are still impulsive enough to run out in a busy street! Gun safety can be achieved with an adult being hands on right there but that’s about the only way. Ability is a totally different ball game and lacking to say the least.
Waste of a coveted tag, IMO. With that said, I hope he kills a 400".
When my grandson got big enough , I bought two BB guns and made some targets.
We would sit on my porch and shoot . I would bet him I hit my target first before he did and he was really into beating Papaw .
I would miss on purpose so he thought he would win. Sometimes I won first just to keep it real.
I’ll let everyone make their own decision about when to let their children hunt and what form the hunt takes.
With that being said, the killing is the easy part. It’s not hard to kill. Deciphering what it means to kill for each of us on a personal level is the crux of hunting.
I’d hate for that to weigh heavily on a youngster’s mind. Sometimes it’s difficult for me to quantify I’d expect it would prove exponentially more difficult on a young mind.
Ahhh, hard to imagine that going well.
If a kid has a lot of exposure and is safe with a firearm, 5 is old enough to hunt just about anything.
He probably won't be doing the shooting!
With the right equipment it’s possible for a youngster that age to pull a trigger I guess.
