Very excited, and anxious.... Pulled cards yesterday. Unless something drastic happens, Professor Dickweed is going to have an encounter with a nice buck. There are three regular afternoon visitors that would be my personal best bow kills. Some really nice bucks. Multiple smaller bucks as well. I've coached him, and will really coach him the whole drive tomorrow... His shooting has improved dramatically. He's now confident, which is very important. Been a long time since I've been this excited for a deer hunt....
Best of luck!!
Well, that was disappointing...... Professor was in his stand and settled in by 4:30. Wind could not have been more perfect for his set. He texted me at 6:15 and said cattle were in the woods with him. SOB!!! Neighbor's cattle have gotten out and were right there in the woods with him. He never saw a deer. There have been deer in that spot every afternoon before dark for weeks. Good bucks about 75% of the time... He pulled the card, and there hasn't been a deer in there in the PM before dark since Wednesday. There was a good buck in there this morning about 9:30. Only good buck pic in daylight since Wednesday. I called my BIL, and he's calling the neighbor to tell him to get his cattle out of there. I saw a doe, a 4 pt, and a 3 pt.
You set professor up too good. It wouldnt be right if he took one before figuring out a little of what us hunters already know--sometimes **** dont go your way. LOL
No PM daylight pics for three straight days. Far fewer pics in general. His setup is very near a large mature hardwood forest. This all spells ACORNS.
Do you think the cows could have anything to do with it? Something new making a whole lot of noise. I've seen deer stop hitting corn completely for no apparent reason then move the stand a couple of hundred yards and they go right back to killing it. Does there seem to be the same changes at your stand?
No sign of cattle in the woods. No pics either. Deer pics dropped 80% overall. I bet it is acorns.
Acorns is probably the answer. Once they start falling the deer go to them.
Yes, but they don't normally fall this early.......
I listened to acorns falling all weekend. Corn pics also went way down for me. My big deer disappeared
Sounds like yall need to start planting oak trees around your stands. Oak food plots..
My cams are showing the same thing too
Went over to a neighbors this afternoon an the oaks in his yard were dropping.
