41 consecutive opening day for me! Come a long way from green gum boots, slugs and a single shot true test 12 lol
Most these guys will never know what it was like in the 70’s if I saw s deer I called everybody I knew “ from a rotary dial phone hooked to the wall”
you guys are telling your age lol,i remember catching table on fire opening day with the old jon-e hand warmer, lighter fluid all over it,lit that baby and everything was in flames lol
Single shot ivory Johnson 20 gauge and if you seen a deer it was like winning the lottery and it was buck only!!
I thought it was so awesome to get to hang my single shot in the gun rack on the side window of the old international scout next to my dads 94 Winchester and we got to hunt everyday of gun season my first year! ( both of em Saturday and Sunday lol)
Glad you guys are still at it i been at it over 50 years but couldnt make it this morning been sick since august hopefully maybe get to go this afternoon 1st gun was a sears and robuck 410 bolt action as for the phone we were on a party line with 4 other people you could pick it up and listen to other people which was very annoying because sometimes when you needed it someone was on it you had to listen to how many times it rang to see if it was for you ours was 2 rings if it was 1 or 3 or 4 it was for someone else i still think as far as hunting goes it was more fun back then not many deer and you were happy with what ever buck you got early on was no doe season for here i wish you guys the best of luck and enjoy
rotary phone with the party line, people could listen in on you,you could listen in on them. You couldnt call if they were on the phone, good times lol
You still have the 410?? Would love to see pics of it my brother has are dads old single shot sears robuck 22 great gun killed many squirrels and rabbits with it!!

46 years here. Took my 1st buck in 1975 with a Marlin lever action 30-30. He was a 5 pt that I had missed the day before with my Bear recurve. There were less than 4000 deer taken in the entire state that year.
