I saw a nice buck flat out gettin after a doe in the cornfield behind the house this morning. There was a good frost on the ground and I was fired up watching him chase. Then I remembered what the temps for this weekend are gonna be. 45-50 at night for lows and 60's during the day. I know deer still move:cool: but for me it takes the excitement out of opening weekend a bit. Expectations are much higher when the temps are low and so I get more excited. I don't expect much this weekend. Hopefully with all of the movement (other hunters out) one will be pushed by me or into a hot doe that gets him fired up. Can't kill'em in bed. I'll be out all day I suppose.

The rut is actually better when it's hot. The does are wearing less. :D
