.35 might be harder to get ammo for, 30 30 is hard enough these days. If in doubt, get both !
Hope he cuts you a deal on both if not he may have some ammo to throw in. Buying a used firearm is typically better than holding that money in cash over time.If I could get both that'd be great. If only one I'd get the 35 rem simply because I've been looking to pick one up for a long time now and haven't found the one. There seems to be more 30-30 lever actions available and they come up for sale used more often. You have to dig deeper to find a 35 rem for sale these days. Especially a nice one. I'd also reload for the 35 rem to cut costs on ammo and increase ammo supply and diversity.
