30/30 shortage

I can understand .22’s and millitary calibers flying off the shelves, but 30/30 ? Really ?
Im ok, but i have a buddy that 30/30 is his only deer hunting gun, and ammo for it is just non existant. Explain that one.

I receive numerous e-mails from various businesses everyday advertising: .223, .308, 9 m/m, and a few other Military calibers with F.M.J bullets. What I don't see is ads for: .30-30, .243, .222, .270, and many other commonly used calibers. Prices are also way out-of-line too.

Manufactures are concentrating their resources on what's selling the most. 5.56, .308, 9mm, etc...
Think about it. Make 5.56 that people can't get enough of, or pause that to make .30-30 so some hillbilly can shoot a deer?
(I'm one of those hillbillies.)

Been getting several boxes of both 30-30 and 270 at the Walmart here in VA. Just gotta get in the store early on truck days to catch any of em on the shelves. Most of what I been finding is 150grain and 170 grain

It’s out there but pretty high online. Best advice would be to check Walmart often and early.

this morning. They do have plenty of 243s, 12and 20gauge in #8 shot though and a ton of 22s.

Ive been snatching up all the 150gr .270 Win I can find.

30 carbine has been like frogs teeth too.

.204 is non existent. Wish I had bought 10k rounds back when it was available and reasonable.

I actually saw some Hornady 30-30 LEVERevolution 160 FTX today in Bowling Green. $42.99 a box though.

I found some 30-06 Ballistic Tips at Walmart today for $43.93 that looked neat. I'll stick with the old 150 gr Remington.
