I've never heard of a Model 770 made by Remington, Winchester offered a Model 770 years ago. I had one back in the early '80's, in .270, and had no issues with it. Did yours come with factory open sights?

770’s were the predecessor to the 710’s. It was Remingtons economy rifle that never did good. 710 was supposed to be an improvement. Neither are appealing aesthetically. Accuracy is hit and or miss, literally.... .270 is a great cartridge though!

Thanks for the information guys I’m not a big deer hunter. I’m more into turkey and small game. So this rifle while probably be ok for me.

Just don't shoot Cor-Lokts. I heard they bounce off of deer when shot from a .270

Especially when using core lokts, like using barbless hooks.

Probably reading this incorrectly, but you don't intend to shoot turkeys and small game with it are you?

Sounds like it was made in Mayfield Ky? Just about everything made there was low budget with lots of plastic. Not the workers fault. Remington just built all their bottom of the barrel stuff there. If it can hold a zero it will kill em as dead as any.

Cor-Lokts are my favorite round. My .243 loves them.
